New: Internet Police in China

They are called "JingJing" or "ChaCha" ("JingCha" means police in Chinese), or online 911. In order to encourage people to report to authorities for any invalid activities, many China's web sites work closely with the government to enforce internet security, or more control over what people speak on the internet.

Take an example for tianya.cn, the home page shows an "online 911"(In china it's 110 - for burglars, etc.)/"Police Patrolling Station" link like this:

MasterCard makes people in China really angry

According to one of China's most poppular social web sites called "tianya", MasterCard company used phrase "Republic of Taiwan". This makes lots of people in China very angry. China always claims that Taiwan is part of China and is very sensitive if others claims that taiwan is an independent country.

Top: The snapshot of the web page referring Taiwan as "Republic of Taiwan":

Nofollow tag in Wordpress blog

Wordpress blogs, by default, will insert a "nofollow" tag to every link posted in the comments, like this:

rel="nofollow"
>Users' Site

If a nofollow tag is attached to your link, the link juice of the blog won't be passed to your site. That means that you won't get any benefit from the blog's pagerank (a nofollow tag basically tells Google NOT to follow the links in the comments). Most wordpress blogs are set that way. If you are posting comments for backlinks and pagerank, then you should post comments only on blogs that don't have the 'nofollow' thingy.

There is a wordpress plugin that removes the “nofollow” attribute from wordpress blog’s comments. The blogs that have this plugin installed (you will know whether it is installed or not when posting a comment; if the plugin is installed then you will see a link below the comments form:

"Comments links could be nofollow free")

This is the plugin:

Add comments to blogs to get links is just too much hard work. A better option would be link directory submission, if you are doing it all for pagerank.
